Network Administrator Computer Network Administrators
are responsible for the security and administration of the
computer networks that are now prevalent in most companies. They also design and implement systems that keep networks functioning in the
event of a power failure or other emergency. Duties of network
administrators normally include: - Installation of hardware and
software that comprise the network - Adding and deleting files to the
network server - Maintaining the printers and other peripherals
connected to the network - Training activities associated with network

network security access - Backing up files in the event of problems to

A bachelor’s degree is a prerequisite for many Network
Administrator jobs. Some positions may require only a 2-year
degree. Relevant work experience also is very important. For more
advanced positions, majors in Information Technology, Information
Systems or graduate degrees are preferred.
